Anime Terminology
66I'll explain what the most used terms for Anime/Manga are, if you're a fan you'll need to know these terms!
Shounen - Means the Anime is aimed towards boys between the ages of 10-18. Doesn't mean older men won't like some of these Anime though!
Shoujo - Means the Anime is aimed towards girls between the ages of 10-18. Doesn't mean older women won't like some of these Anime though!
Seinen - Means the Anime/Manga is aimed towards men between the ages of 18-30, has more mature content and darker stories sometimes.
Josei - Means the Anime/Manga is aimed towards women between the ages of 18-30, has more mature conetent and darker stories sometimes.
Shounen-ai - The Anime/Manga will contain contain two or more men who are romantically involved with each other, in other words same sex relationships, nothing hardcore though may be a little kissing.
Shoujo-ai - The Anime/Manga will contain two or more women who are romantically involved with each other, in other words same sex relationships, nothing hardcore though may contain kissing.
Yaoi - Same as Shounen-ai but may go a little further into the relationship.
Yuri - Same as Shoujo-ai but may go a little further into the relationship.
Romance - Two or more characters in the Anime/Manga are in a relationship, or are in the process of creating one during the Anime/Manga.
Mecha - People use gigantic robots in the Anime/Manga, usually piloted by someone.
Harem - Male character is surrounded by three or more female characters, who may or may not want to form a relationship.
Reverse Harem - Same as Harem except the male and female roles are reversed.
Fan service - Anything to please the fans, Example of this is a shot of a girls panties in the Anime.
